I spend my time painting in studio or “en plein air”.**
I paint, enter art competitions, and travel. My goal is to artistically express current and past experiences, through painting on the edge of a new impressionists style.
I enjoy continued learning and the satisfaction and intimacy gained from creating a work of art.
**En plein air is a French expression “in the open air“, specifically meaning painting outdoors. When I paint outdoors, the purpose is to paint relatively fast to create a “study” to capture the color, form, and atmosphere. It is done quickly because the light or weather changes fast and therefore, so does the color, hue, contrast and overall feel of the subject change.
